If money’s tight or you’re just starting your business, you might jump at the chance to barter your services. Bartering, means to exchange your products or services for another’s products or services.
So for instance, let’s say you’re a social media manager but you need a web designer to design your website. In that case, you would provide your social media services for said web designer in exchange for them designing your website.
Now, just because there’s no money changing hands, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put the deal in writing - and that’s where this agreement comes in.
The Barter Agreement helps avoid those awkward but-you-said moments if things don’t go as planned and lays out exactly what products and services will be exchanged, the time-frame and expectations for the exchange, and the recourse each party has if the other doesn’t hold up their end of the deal.
