Joint Venture/Collaboration Agreement

A Joint Venture/Collaboration Agreement is used when two or more parties decide to collaborate on a special project.

Most commonly this is used if, say, a copywriter and web designer wanted to collaborate to offer their services as a type of bundle or convenience to their clients. You might also see a joint venture happen between two coaches hosting a joint event or between a wedding planner, photographer, and florist, for example.

Regardless of who you’re joining forces with, you want to lay out the specifics of that arrangement so that both or all parties know exactly what the expectations are along with things like tax implications, payment percentages and schedules, refund policies, short- and long-term goals, etc.

Essentially, you want to pack all the nitty gritty of your working relationship into this agreement because if things go bad at any point, you don’t want to be liable or completely cut off.
