If you’re collecting personal information on your website like someone’s name and email, then you absolutely, no questions asked, have to have a privacy policy on your site. And it doesn’t hurt to have terms of use on there either if you want to protect yourself and your content.

Pre-2018, these things were hit and miss. Some people had them, some didn’t. But after the European Union (EU) enacted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) it became necessary that anyone who was collecting personal data on their website (and had a site that could potentially be visited by someone in the EU - living or vacationing) had to have a GDPR compliant privacy policy.

This was a big to-do three years ago and it made a lot of entrepreneurs take the legal stuff more seriously, especially when they saw the fines associated with non-compliance.

In this workshop we’re going to cover all the legal necessities your website needs to have from a GDPR-compliant privacy policy to terms of use and website disclaimers.
